2. Entry Fees & Tiers
Players choose their tier at signup. Tier selection is locked for the entire season and cannot be changed. Entry fees are non-refundable.
Monthly fees are due on the last Saturday of each month (June 27th, July 25th, and August 29th). Players who have not paid their monthly fee by the due date are ineligible to play league games until payment is received.

Entry-level prize pool
Players who drop from the league mid-season are removed from prize eligibility. Their match record remains in the standings.
3. Deck Construction Rules
3.1 Format Legality

All decks must comply with the official Duel Commander banned and restricted list available at mtgdc.info.

Any legal Duel Commander Commander is permitted regardless of its market price.

3.2 Budget Cap
-
The 99-card deck (excluding the Commander and basic lands) must not exceed the weekly budget cap.

Budget is calculated using the cheapest available printing of each card on Moxfield.com.

The Commander and basic lands are excluded from the budget calculation entirely.

Players may swap cards in their 99 at any time as long as the updated list does not exceed the current week's budget cap.

Budget caps increase by $25 every Friday. Players must verify their updated Moxfield list with staff before playing league games that week.

Staff will record the approved deck total in the standings sheet after verification.

4. Playing League Games

All league games must be played at Maja Trading Card House.

Games can be played any day the store is open. Saturday is the preferred and most active league day.

Players may challenge any other registered league player at any time.

All matches are best of 3 games.

Match results must be reported to staff on the same day the match is played. Results reported after closing time will not count for that day.

Staff will update the standings on the Google Sheet and the in-store whiteboard after each reported result.
5. Scoring System
5.1 Points (Monthly Prizes)
Points are earned on a per-game basis within each match and are used to determine monthly prize distributions.

5.2 Win/Loss Ratio (Belt)
Win/loss ratio is tracked separately on a per-match basis. A match win is recorded when a player wins 2 games in a match. Win/loss ratio is used exclusively to determine the belt winner at the end of the season.
6. Monthly Prizes
Monthly prizes are calculated at the end of each prize period based on points earned within each tier. Prizes are calculated and distributed per tier independently.
6.1 Prize Cutoff Dates

6.2 Prize Formula

Total Allotment: Number of players in tier x monthly entry fee

Store Credit Pool: 40% of total allotment, distributed equally among the top 3 point earners in the tier

Pack Pool: 60% of total allotment divided by pack price ($6.50) = total packs available

Pack Distribution: Each player receives packs proportional to their share of total points earned in the tier

Formula: Total Packs x (Player Points / Total Points of All Players in Tier) = Packs awarded to that player

If rounding results in a discrepancy, the extra pack is awarded to the highest point earner

The Belt

7. The Championship Belt
The Maja Trading Card House Duel Commander League Championship Belt is awarded to the player with the best overall win/loss ratio at the end of the season on September 26, 2026. The belt represents league supremacy and bragging rights until Season 2 begins.
7.1 Belt Tiebreaker
In the event of a tied win/loss ratio at season's end, the tied players will have one week to prepare their decks. A single tiebreaker match will then be played to determine the belt winner. The tiebreaker match follows all standard league match rules.
8. Standings & Tracking

Standings are tracked on a publicly viewable Google Sheet maintained by store staff.

An in-store whiteboard displays current standings and is updated after each reported match.

Standings display both total points earned and win/loss ratio for each player.

Approved deck budget totals are recorded in the standings sheet after each Friday verification.
9. Disputes & Rulings

The store owner is the final authority on all disputes and rulings.

All rulings are final.

Players are expected to conduct themselves with sportsmanship at all times. Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification from the league at the store owner's discretion.
10. General Rules

Players must be registered and have paid their entry fee before playing any league games.

Match results not reported on the same day the game was played will not be counted.

The store reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. Players will be notified of any changes.

By signing up for the league, players agree to all rules stated in this document.
